A 23-year-old former County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony. According to reports, he was arrested for the offense that allegedly took place with a 13-year-old girl when he was off-duty.
The complaint against the former sheriff was received by the sheriff’s office Aug. 14. He was placed on administrative leave while an internal investigation commenced.
The victim, a 13-year-old female and her family were located and a forensic interview was conducted with the victim that resulted in an outcry of sexual misconduct against the former sheriff.
