On Thursday, a K-9 unit intercepted $237,576 in cash during a traffic stop on U.S. 59, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office reports.
A mother from Mission, Texas, with four children, was in the vehicle during the stop. The cops released all five people at the scene, but an investigation has been launched regarding the arrest. The Sheriff’s Office in a statement clarified that the mother could be charged with money laundering. The SUV was stopped for a traffic violation by one of the members of Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force’s interdiction team when the vehicle was heading south through Rosenberg. The cash was retrieved during a roadside investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
