Detectives arrested a Magnolia pastor on charges he sexually assaulted a young girl – and officials believe there could be more victims. The team raided the church and later apprehended 56-year-old pastor.
Police say they found evidence of the alleged sexual assault and a “large cache of weapons and ammunition” in a residence at the church.
Since the pastor led his church from different locations around the greater Houston area, including Tomball, South Houston, and Montgomery County, investigators believe there could be more victims who have yet to come forward.
A relative of some church members said the pastor tells church members to cut off contact with their biological families. He collects money from the church members, all of whom are struggling financially, the relative said.
The preacher forbids dating and instead sets up church members to marry, the relative added.
A church member told the police all the church’s 20 or so members, including children, live with the pastor and his wife. She questioned the allegation of sexual abuse.
A neighbor who lives up the street said he only knew of the pastor, his wife and their niece living at the house. The neighbor said they traded greetings occasionally and were good neighbors.
The pastor is facing one second-degree felony count of sexual assault of a child.
