At 10:30 p.m., the driver was speeding west along the Highway 290 service road, approaching Barker Cypress, with a female passenger. The driver lost control of the car and spun off the roadway, skidding to the left before slamming into a concrete barrier separating the feeder road and freeway.
The fire department responded and extricated the two occupants of the car, which had flipped over and was resting on the roof. Both were transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
At the hospital, authorities determined the driver was intoxicated. Harris County deputies are investigating the crash.
