In Woodland, a former gymnastics coach accused of sexually assaulting a fellow employee, who was under the age of 17, was indicted on three second-degree felony charges.
The 23-year old gymnastics coach was arrested in early June following allegations that he and another underage employee at a gym center had sex.
According to the facility owner, the gymnastics coach is no longer employed at the gym and has not been for months. That it only came to their attention back in early February, and they terminated him immediately upon finding the information out. They also said the gymnastics coach has not been an employee for a while.
The coach also said the alleged victim also is no longer employed with the gym facility.
Texas law states that a person must be 17 years of age or older to consent to sexual intercourse. Deputies did not reveal the age of the alleged victim.
A second-degree felony is punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a possible fine not to exceed $10,000.
