A Houston mother was charged with a family assault charges after she hit, kicked and bit a family member.
After the assault, the mother allegedly drunk drive with her two children in the vehicle while intentionally striking another vehicle after dropping her children off at a north Houston home.
The incident occurred on June 23 at about 8:20 p.m. in Vista Oak Drive. A deputy was called to a disturbance at the location and saw that a minor accident had happened and several people were standing around the suspect vehicle.
The 30-year old mother as detained after dropping off her two children, ages 7 and 9, at the home. After the children got out of the vehicle, the mother allegedly struck another vehicle on purpose, according to police officials.
Deputies attempted to perform standardized field sobriety tests, but the mother was unable to perform them due to her intoxication.
Because of this, the mother was charged with serious family assault along with DWI.
