The judge sentenced a fired constable deputy to prison for eight years for sexual assault to a female motorist during a traffic stop early this year.

According to authorities, the 31-year-old former deputy constable assaulted two women in the six months he was on the job.

The former deputy constable was facing up to 20 years after being convicted in a case that has raised criticism. Because he was convicted of sexual assault, he has to serve at least four years of his sentence.

This is just one of the many cases involving a sexual assault. These types of criminal cases, if not properly defended by an assault lawyer, could lead to a more serious consequence rather than just bail or fine.

Assault conviction may lead to:

  • Loss of custody of your children.
  • Loss of your job
  • Loss of housing or your lease.
  • Penalties ranging from a fine of up to $500 – $10,000 and up to 2 – 20 years in prison, depending on whether the charge is classified as a misdemeanor or felony.

If you are an immigrant or a temporary citizen of the United States, you could be deported back to your home country.

Loss of the right to own or possess a firearm.
