A Houston mother that was formerly accused of sexual assault is now charged with drunk driving with her two children in the vehicle is accused of intentionally striking another vehicle after dropping her children off at a north Houston home.
Previously, Sterling pleaded guilty to child endangerment in January 2014 after she left a child unattended near a roadway, according to Harris County court records. In 2017, she pleaded guilty to a family assault charge after she hit, kicked and bit a family member, according to authorities.
The incident occurred June 23 about 8:20 p.m. in the 16700 blocks of Vista Oak Drive, the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 office said in a news release. A deputy was called to a disturbance at the location and saw that a minor accident had happened and several people were standing around the suspect vehicle.
Deputies detained the 30-year old woman who had dropped off her two children, ages 7 and 9, at the home. After the children got out of the vehicle, she allegedly struck another vehicle on purpose. The deputies attempted to perform standardized field sobriety tests, but the woman was unable to perform them due to her intoxication.
She was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a felony.

Sheriff’s Office seeks help in identifying male wanted in the sexual assault of an elderly woman. Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit have issued a call to the public to help identify a subject wanted for a brutal sexual assault of a woman in west Harris County.
According to investigators, at 8:17 p.m. Oct. 1, “an unidentified Hispanic male sexually assaulted a 77-year-old female victim in a living facility located in the 13800 blocks of Canyon Hill Drive in Houston, Texas.”
Before he entered the facility, the man was caught on surveillance video placing sunglasses on his face as he entered the front lobby area through an unlocked door. The suspect then forced open a secured door to gain access to the residential units.
The suspect then knocked on the victim’s door and presented himself as a maintenance man. The man covered the peephole which prompted the victim to open the door. He then reportedly forced the door open, dragged the victim to a bedroom and sexually assaulted her.
Afterward, the suspect demanded money, threatened to kill her if she called the police and ran out of the building.
According to the reports, the suspect is a Hispanic male, 6 feet tall and 220 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a goatee. He has a tattoo on his left forearm. The suspect was wearing sunglasses, a black baseball hat, black-colored men’s Mexican National Soccer Team Jersey, black pants, and brown work-style boots. The suspect has tattoos located underneath his left arm near the elbow region.
