The domestic assault charge against an Astros reliever was withdrawn after available evidence yielded there was “no reasonable prospect of conviction. He entered into a one-year peace bond, akin to a restraining order in the United States.
The peace bond prohibits him from contacting the alleged victim without her written consent for one year and mandates he continues counseling.
He faced the charge after an alleged altercation on May 8 with the mother of his 3-year-old son. The woman returned to Mexico shortly thereafter and has not returned. The alleged victim told prosecutors she would not testify if the case went to trial and “wished to resume contact and parenting responsibilities.
The man spoke once in court, thanking the judge as the 16-minute hearing concluded. Hordes of cameras swarmed the 23-year-old upon his exit from city hall. He walked without acknowledging them into a waiting van.
This is just one of the many cases involving an assault. These types of criminal cases, if not properly defended by an assault lawyer, could lead to a more serious consequence rather than just bail or fine.
The story of the abovementioned man is just proof that if not defended properly by an assault lawyer, things could go in the luck of the defense side.

A man charged in the stabbing death of a woman last year in her living room was already jailed in Houston for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, according to court records.
The man, 26, is accused of slaying a girl at her apartment Lane in August, according to authorities.
The accused is a Honduran native. He was identified as the suspect who a witness saw struggling with the girl and then fleeing her apartment. He was already in the Harris County Jail on two unrelated charges, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and super aggravated sexual assault of a child, when he was charged in the girl’s death.
In that incident, a 12-year-old girl texted 911, sending messages that she needed to be rescued from a man. Authorities located his apartment based on information in her texts.
She told authorities she met the man on Facebook, that he picked her up from her house and that they had sex at his house the first day that they met. She realized her mistake as the weekend went on and wanted to leave him, but was afraid because he threatened to kill her, the prosecutor said. The girl said the man carried a gun with him.
When police arrived at the man’s apartment, he had a .38-caliber gun, authorities said. Police then found the girl inside, who told them the man raped her.
The man was previously indicted on the federal charge of an alien in possession of a weapon charge in May 2017 and a warrant for his arrest was issued later that year after he failed to appear in court. The U.S. Marshals and Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on him after his most recent arrest in Houston.
These types of cases could be best handled by an Assault lawyer and could possibly turn the luck on the teen’s side. However, failure to hire an experienced assault lawyer could bring unfortunate scenarios on the side of the defense.

Assault charges are definitely no joke. Even authorities, is accused of assault, could be charged and sentenced depending on the degree of their deeds.
In Houston, a teen who raped and murdered his girlfriend – and then shared images of her lifeless body with his friends – was sentenced to life in prison. He was 15 when he killed her 15-year-old girlfriend on May 27, 2016. He was convicted of capital murder after a six-day trial.
The teen’s father took the teen to the Houston Police Department to confess, but during questioning, he denied knowing where his girlfriend was. He told police that he last saw her at a taqueria the day she went missing.
Three days after her girlfriend went missing, another teenager called Texas EquuSearch and said he was part of a group of teens who left school and went to the taco restaurant and then to an abandoned apartment complex. He told authorities that he and two other teens left and went back to school, but the teen and her girlfriend stayed at the apartment. That was the last time he saw her alive.
Based on the tip, police found the young girl’s body.
The accused teen continued to insist he did not know where her girlfriend was, but when investigators searched his cell phone they found images and a recording of the sexual assault and strangulation.
During the recording, the victim is heard crying and begging the teen not to kill her: “I don’t want to die, Jesus.”
At trial, jurors heard that the teen shared graphic images of her girlfriend after he killed her.
The jury found the accused teen guilty of capital murder in less than an hour. The 18-year-old was automatically sentenced to life in prison, with a possibility of parole after 40 years.
